HandsOn Web Development Workshop

30 Aug. 2021

IEEE WIE, MSIT in collaboration with Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors organized a HandsOn Web Development Workshop, a session which helped the audience to build a video conferencing website using JavaScript. The motive of the session was to help the students build a resume ready project and how can you make your resume stand out. The speakers for the session were Sonal Kushwaha and Akanksha Mahesh Pant, Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors. The session focussed on making the video chat application using webrtc from scratch. They very generously showed all the commands on the terminal and made the starter project, frontend and backend ready initially on vscode ide. Then they explained the flow and the architecture of the application. Akansha explained the server side and built it using node.js. The client side of the application was explained by Sonal and she used react.js. They also did run the code and showed the result towards the end of the session. It proved to be a really insightful session and they wrapped up the whole session within the stipulated time explaining everything clearly. Towards the end of the session, a vote of thanks was given to the speakers by Paras,Chairperson IEEE WIE MSIT. The insightful webinar had a great turn over with more than 100 attendees and everyone tried to follow along in the hands-on session. It surely added some value to the attendees. It can be proudly stated that this initiative proved to be very fruitful to students and made them learn how they can build a resume ready project without much effort.
