To rescue the students from the monotonous schedule of online classes and assignments, IEEE PES MSIT decided to come up with a series of online quiz competitions to keep the spirits of competitiveness high in the students. Quiz-o-Pedia was the name of the monthly quiz series, which was free for all the students and faculties to participate. The questions revolved around the topic, Energy Conservation Using Different Domains, and the domain for September month was Internet of Things. The platform used was Google forms, to keep the things simple for everyone. The quiz window was kept open for 11hours, starting from 12 noon to 11 PM, so that the participants could join the quiz according to their convenience. Each student was given 20 minutes to attempt 40 questions, which were MCQ type. Over a hundred students registered for the quiz and attempted the questions with full enthusiasm. At the end of the quiz, three top scorers were awarded a certificate of merit, those who scored more than 80% were awarded a certificate of excellence and above 50% scorers were given participation certificates. This initiative from IEEE PES MSIT was taken with an aim to test the knowledge of the students along with giving them some fun in a competitive environment. Quizzes being a sneaky form of learning do not feel like the traditional activities and give students the opportunity to harness their existing knowledge in every possible way to produce maximum outputs.
