IEEE and its Benefits

It’s through curiosity and looking at opportunities in new ways that we’ve always mapped our path. IEEE MSIT in collaboration with seven student branches (GTBIT, MAIT, NCU, ADGITM, NSUT, IGDTUW, CIET, Mody University) with IEEE Delhi Section conducted a webinar on “IEEE and its Benefits”. On 20 July 2020 on Google meets from 18:00 – 19:00pm. The speaker for the webinar was Prof. Prerna Gaur, currently serving as the Chairperson of IEEE Delhi Section, she has also been serving as the branch Counsellor of IEEE NSUT Student Branch since January 2001. She is the winner of the prestigious Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Excellence award in Education 2015 year. She was also presented with the award of Women of the Decade in Academia at World Economic Forum 2018, New Delhi, India. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics for Engineers (IEEE) is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement of technology and ideas for the benefit of society. IEEE is the world’s largest technical society that provides a platform for various career and networking opportunities, access to vital technical information, and skill-building exercises. IEEE publishes various magazines like IEEE Spectrum and IEEE Potentials which are issued monthly. She enlightened all of the students about more topics that IEEE membership is beneficial and what is offered along with how IEEE as a society benefits us and the environment we live in. Offers us knowledge about the technical field and access to technical innovations, cutting edge information through IEEE platform. She even discussed the networking opportunities and exclusive member benefits along with she told about IEEE Delhi Section and it’s working like it is one of the 12 sections in India coming under Asia-Pacific Region, the Region 10 of IEEE and all the technical chapters under and the four affinity groups too. IEEE Delhi Section alone or with the support of these Chapters and the local units of other institutes, like, IET (UK), IETE, IE (India), etc. organizes from time to time activities for : ● dissemination of knowledge in the broader fields of Electrical and Electronics Engineering through holding of technical talk, seminar, conference, symposium, workshop, tutorial, etc. ● exchange of ideas and sharing of knowledge amongst the professionals in the corresponding fields and ● provides support to Student Branches to conduct paper contests, quiz, etc.
